Aston Carter Special Projects Specialist in Airway Heights, Washington

Description:

The Special Projects Specialist oversees the process of custom products and projects lines including, but not limited to, the pre-planning stage, the initial meeting and all follow up with the customer projects as assigned, from the time when plans and creative concepts are created, until they are shipped to our customer. The establishment and maintenance of effective communication with other departments is key, because custom projects are out of our normal core line and have different sense of urgency and uniqueness, the timelines are much more condensed and must be quickly coordinated to ensure the customer's needs are met or exceeded. Job duties include but are not limited to the below: • Oversee the special project development process for accounts that have been assigned. Strive for growth in innovation, and customer satisfaction (internal & external) on an ongoing basis • Timing and scheduling of all aspects of product planning and development for assigned projects • Working with, and as a liaison between, all divisions and all product development support units within our organization such as purchasing, operations, creative resources, marketing, sales, suppliers, sister company overseas, and customers • Continued research of new product trends to include trend shopping, store checks, global market trends, trade references, trade shows, networking, online, etc. • Compile quote requests and pre-work to gain approval for specific programs to ensure we are meeting initial margin requirements • Submit art requests to Art Studio via Wrike • Responsible for maintaining Customer Profile's for assigned accounts • Item set up in company ERP system, Apprise, for all special projects as assigned

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Education and/or Experience: Bachelors' degree from a four-year college or university preferred; two (2) or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in an international environment a plus. • Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively interact in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the company. Bilingual in English and Mandarin a plus. • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to analyze and interpret general business procedures, reports, manuals, processes required. • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. • Other Skills and Abilities: Must be able to tactfully deal with various personalities throughout the company and deal effectively and professionally with internal and external customers. Must be proficient in utilizing computer programs for processing data and writing reports. Required program applications include: Microsoft Outlook (intermediate level), Microsoft Excel (intermediate level), Microsoft Word (intermediate level).
