Whole Foods Market Senior Business Analyst (Center Store) in Austin, Texas

Job DescriptionResponsible for leveraging a variety of data platforms and analytical tools to assess and convert data into actionable business insights. Builds tools to automate reporting and generate insights allowing clients to quickly and accurately see how WFM stores, regions, products and processes are performing. Uses data to influence business and retail decisions across the company. Identifies, develops and executes data analyses to uncover areas of business opportunity.

Responsible for leveraging a variety of data platforms and analytical tools to assess and convert data into billable amounts for suppliers. Builds tools to automate reporting and generate billing allowing invoicing by internal or third-party partners. Supports Center Store team expense processing, tracking, forecasting, and reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Plays a leadership role with analyst peers, cross-functional partners, and merchants to support cohesive and efficient business processes in billing and transactional programs.

  • Drives coordination of In Store Execution program and provides support for suppliers, third party warehouse, and merchant teams. Completes monthly calculations and quarterly review of all Center Store suppliers.

  • Defines analytical approach; reviews and vets with stakeholders.

  • Leads and executes entire projects from start to finish, including data gathering and manipulation, synthesis and modeling, problem solving, and communication of insights and recommendations.

  • Provides requested compliance documentation on a quarterly basis.

  • Performs root cause analyses and recommends holistic solutions leading to systemic and sustainable business / process improvement.

  • Devises new / enhanced methods for identifying data patterns and trends in available information sources.

  • May provide advice and guidance to cross-functional partners and internal team members.

  • Supports expense processing and financial reporting. Responsible for month-end tasks, including manual accruals.

  • Additional tasks as assigned.

    Skills:

  • Advanced excel skills required.

  • Knowledge and expert level skills with Alteryx.

  • Workday Core Financials experience desired but not required.

  • Applies multi-domain / process expertise.

  • Able to translate and communicate complex or ambiguous business problem statements into analysis and explanations to suppliers and internal stakeholders.

  • Creatively adapts to unexpected obstacles and reallocates time, priorities, and resources accordingly.

  • Applies in-depth understanding of applicable company, departmental, and merchant SOPs.

  • Able to effectively present information and respond to questions in both one-on-one situations and group meetings.

  • Proactively works to accomplish critical / difficult tasks supporting business objectives.

  • Perseveres in the face of unexpected obstacles.

  • Applies analytical skills to evaluate and interpret complex situations.

  • Presents problem analysis and recommended solutions in a creative and logical manner.

  • Handles a diverse range of issues requiring evaluation of a variety of factors, including business trends.

  • Possesses clear understanding of WFM’s and supported stores / regions business models, objectives, competitive strengths and opportunities.

  • Understands customer, market and industry trends and emerging challenges.

    Education & Experience:

  • K nowledge and expert level skills with Alteryx Designer is required for this role

  • BA/BS degree and 4-6 years’ relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
