The selected candidate will apply specialized and theoretical knowledge, principles, and concepts to Resolve issues and significant matters.  The Community Program Director will manage recruitment, engagement, performance, and development of employees. Develops, implements, and manages goals and objectives. Participates in strategic planning. Determines and enforces processes, practices, and/or policies. Manages operations, workflow, projects, and/or systems that have strategic impact. The candidate will create solutions to ensure legal and policy compliance. This position will report to the Executive Director. The mission of The Collaborative is to prevent, intervene, and heal from trauma and violence in all forms. Contingent Category II employees receive a generous leave package that includes 10 vacation days, 9 holidays, 5 sick days, 3 personal days and comprehensive health insurance; professional learning and development programs; Contingent Category II employees are eligible for tuition remission for the employee only and the tuition remission only applies to courses taken at UMB.  Tuition remission for Contingent Category II employees who are part-time will be prorated in accordance with their FTE; and flexible work schedules and teleworking options (if applicable per job).  * * *PRIMARY DUTIES * Uses subject matter expertise to plan and coordinate the content and delivery of a program involving community-based services or social services. * Provides strategic direction for the community-based services or social services program, to include establishing goals, target groups, and desired outcomes. * Prepares, coordinates, and maintains program content and delivery methods for the daily operations and events within that specific organizational program. Establishes service guidelines for individuals, groups, families, clients, participants, or communities. * Reviews and approves protocols from research staff. Examines and evaluates program effectiveness and makes changes as necessary. * May interact with students, faculty, volunteers, professionals, research and/or clerical staff to coordinate program engagement and/or participant care. * Coordinates the use of databases used to analyze criteria and deliver data, as well as to monitor, evaluate, and revise program operating policies and procedures. * Organizes and/or participates in various committees and teams to consult with program heads and administrative officials on policy and program needs as well as various administrative issues. * Coordinates the regular publication of summary reports and serves as an information resource to coworkers, the university, and external figures. * Develops funding sources for the program, through grant seeking, major fundraising events and/or donations. * Performs other duties as assigned. Education:Bachelor's degree. Degree in social sciences, such as social work or psychology preferred. Master's degree is preferred. Experience:Five (5) years of experience involving program planning and coordination experience, preferably in a community or university setting. Supervisory Experience:Two (2) years of work coordination, training, or supervision. Other:No substitution of experience for minimum education requirement. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Thorough knowledge of position requirements. Thorough knowledge of all applicable requirements, regulations, and laws. Skill in effective use of applicable technology/systems. Ability to effectively communicate both verbal and written thoughts, ideas, and facts. Ability to support a mission and strategic vision. Instructional, training, and teambuilding skills to strengthen and cultivate relationships. Skill in consultation and change management.
