Position Summary Details

This role performs a wide variety of plumbing tasks, including inspection, upkeep and repair, in an educational environment.

Essential Functions

• Performs duty of a plumbing mechanic.

• Ensures proper installation of plumbing components and fixtures.

Responsibilities

• Installs, repairs, and maintains pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems, and fixtures.

• Follows building plans and blueprints

• Responds to, diagnoses, and resolves plumbing emergencies

• Performs routine inspections of plumbing and drainage systems

• Documents work performed on work orders

• Is skilled in the use of hand and power tools used in the plumbing trade

• Has knowledge of safety practices

• Familiar with PVC, CPVC, PEX, cast iron, and copper

• Effective oral communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to complete projects unsupervised and unassisted

• Excellent problem-solving skills

• Proficiency in basic mathematics and conversion of measurements

Qualifications

• Plumber related experience required

• Possess valid driver’s license

• Must be 18 years of age or older
