Our Opportunity Summary

We are seeking a self-motivated, team-oriented High-Speed Verification Engineer to test and verify Micron’s cutting-edge Enterprise Solid-State Drive (SSD) products. Our position requires experience in testing high speed digital interfaces including ONFI, DDR and PCIe as well as high-speed digital design at the PCB level. You will need to be able to read and understand component specs and take general direction from engineering lead and associated test plans.

You generate and document the detailed test procedures with a clear understanding of the test environment provided and the equipment on hand to carry out the verification testing. You will also carry out the actual testing and record the results for each tested area of the design. You will review the results real-time with the engineering team until the project is completed with all tests completed and documented. You will also interface with various teams to ensure product meets all relevant requirements of the tested interface.

What’s Encouraged Daily

  • Develop Test Plan procedures and Final Reports for all verification testing.

  • Perform basic SI measurements, such as TDR, TDT, crosstalk, jitter, eye pattern and power plane noise measurements to validate SI and power integrity (PI) designs.

  • Read and understand Schematic Circuits and PCB Layout designs.

  • Use of Automation with Test Equipment where efficiencies can be gained.

  • Perform soldering of fine pitch probes and components required for testing.

  • Read and understand 3rd party specifications of IP for ONFI, LPDDR and PCIe and provide guidance to teams on setup and configuration as well as signal integrity requirements for hardware designs.

  • Create test scripts that margin and/or stress an interface to test robustness.

  • Interface with firmware and ASIC teams during bring up and validation to ensure product requirements are understood.

  • Be the expert and lead all validation and debug of critical interfaces during product development.

How to Qualify

  • BS Electrical Engineering

  • 5+ years of relevant design experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Excellent problem-solving skills

  • Highly experienced with measurement tools in a lab environment (O-scope, Logic Analyzer, etc.)

  • Highly experienced in probing of IC and PCBs for verification measurements.

  • Ability to read and understand Schematic and Layout Designs for verification testing

  • Experienced in data collection and data analysis processing.

  • Self-motivated. Desire to take on challenges. Result-driven and detailed oriented.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are a must.

  • Develops solutions to complex technical problems, which require ingenuity and creativity.

  • Understand high speed signaling and device requirements for signal integrity and timing and translating that into validation test plans.

What Set’s You Apart

  • Skilled in creating python scripts for automated testing

  • Experience with LPDDR5 bring up/validation/debug

  • Experience with ONFI signaling bring up/validation/debug

  • Experience with SSD design and validation

  • Experience with PCIe

  • Previous hardware design experience
