Job Summary

Oversee the implementation and maintenance of the Chemistry Programs in support of the safe operation of the plant and the health and safety of employees and the public.

Job Description

  • Ensure the department is in compliance with all Technical Specifications and applicable regulations pertaining to Chemical practices.

  • Direct coordinated departmental actions and responses to inspections and audits by the regulatory agencies, industry groups and from within the company.

  • Establish the strategic direction for maintaining and improving performance.

  • Establish departmental goals that challenge the organization to continually improve.

  • Ensure indicators of performance are established and used to improve department performance.

  • Coordinate resources to accomplish goals and objectives safely and reliably, and ensure timely corrective actions are taken when adverse conditions or trends are identified.

  • Manage the development and implementation of all key chemistry indicators to ensure consistency with regulatory and industry standards.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related science, or experience in US Navy Nuclear Propulsion Program.

Work Experience:

  • 10 years' experience in nuclear power plant generation to include 3 years supervisory experience.

Required License/Certification:

  • Current or equivalent Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) license or certification is desirable.

  • Physical demand level is Sedentary and requirements details are listed below:

  • Support and participate in the Emergency Plan Organization, and Corrective Action Program activities as assigned, and in accordance with procedures and policies applicable for the assigned role.

  • Manage, implement and adhere to all radiological control work practices and contamination control program requirements, including identification and correction of improper contamination control practices, and tracking and trending data to identify recurring problems in order to implement corrective action.

  • Prepare and administer budget plans to manage and control expenses within the established guidelines.

Physical Demands:

  • May perform walk downs in plant environment which may include exposure to heat, cold, noise, and radiation exposure.

  • May require working flexible hours/shifts.

Must establish & maintain a permanent residence within a 45-minute safe drive time to the D.C. Cook Nuclear Power Plant.

Compensation Range:

$129,963.00-168,952.00 USD
