Lead, plan and manage the execution of assigned projects, with focus on nuclear safety, industrial/personnel safety, risk, quality, schedule, scope, and cost.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Convey the vision for how to manage and execute the project to accomplish the project objectives, meet organizational goals, satisfy customer expectations, and realize project benefits.

  • Ensure activities performed in support of the project are integrated in a manner that aids seamless transitions through all project phases. Facilitate and promote collaboration amongst all project team members and stakeholders.

  • Maintain a strong questioning attitude; ask intrusive questions and challenge assumptions.

  • Persistently manage issues to full resolution. Direct and manage the project team in a manner that acknowledges the project manager's overall responsibility and accountability for the project from initiation through closeout.

  • Validate that the selected technical solution accomplishes the project objectives. Ensure that technical requirements for the project are identified and documented. Develop project plans, cost estimates, schedules, milestones, and key performance indicators.

  • Obtain resources required for project execution, including outside services as needed.

  • Manage contracts for outside services, including developing requests for proposals, evaluating competitive bids, selecting vendors, participating in contract negotiations, overseeing vendor performance/quality, ensuring work is performed in accordance with the contract, etc.

  • Monitor and control project cost, schedule, scope, quality, and risk. Effectively communicate project details and issues, provide timely and accurate status reports, and present various aspects to senior management as requested.

  • Manage project closeout, including an analysis of the success of the project with respect to accomplishing the project objectives and realizing project benefits.

MINIMUM REQIREMENTS:

Education requirements are listed below:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business, or related technical field and 4 years of relevant job experience, OR

  • Associate degree in engineering, Business, or related technical field and 6 years of relevant job experience, OR

  • High School diploma or GED and 8 years of relevant job experience.

Required License(s)/Certification(s) are listed below:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required within three (3) years of hire.

Work Experience requirement listed below:

  • Eight (8) years of project management or other commercial nuclear power, utility or other technical related experience with demonstrated ability in project management. Special skills directly related to the area of the assigned project may be required, as necessary.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Demonstrated ability to write clear, concise reports and make professional presentations to senior management.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, direct and motivate a diverse, matrixed team.

  • Essential functions of this job are the same for each level except the projects assigned would be less complex at lower level.

  • Must live within one hour of Cook Nuclear Plant for Emergency Response Organization support.

Physical Demands:

  • May perform walk downs in plant environment which may include exposure to: heat, cold, noise, and radiation exposure.

  • Perform duties that may involve work in hazardous areas and possible radiation exposure within the limits prescribed by the NRC.

Compensation Range:

$110,656.00-143,853.50 USD
