Associate Staff Analyst (OA – Represented by TWU): Min: - Max: $85,316 - $110,468

Associate Staff Analyst (TA – Represented by OSA): Min: - Max: $77,356 - $100,155

Staff Analyst II (OA – Represented by TWU): Min: $75,475 – Max: $84,060

Staff Analyst II (TA – Represented by OSA): Min: $68,430 - Max: $76,213

Staff Analyst I (OA – Represented by TWU): Min: $65,003 - Max: $76,955

Staff Analyst I (TA – Represented by OSA): Min: $58,934 - Max: $69,771

NOTE: TA employees must be permanent in the Staff Analyst, Associate Staff Analyst title to be considered, or be reachable on the Staff Analyst Series civil service list when established.

Responsibilities

Under general supervision with latitude for independent initiative and judgment, the

incumbent will be required to perform a broad range of clerical tasks.

  • Responsible for the receipt, data entry, processing, and responding of high-volume Subpoenas and HIPAA Authorizations for employment-related and medical records regarding New York City Transit employees.

  • Hand delivers or arranges for the delivery of essential records to the various court clerks throughout the city.

  • Prepares invoices for photocopies of requested records while verifying and collecting the fees charged.

  • Prepares routine memos, correspondence, confidential and sensitive documents in response to legal request from the Assistant District Attorney’s offices and all other Legal Government Agency.

  • Maintains files and keeps track of important personnel documents.

  • Performs all other clerical and administrative tasks as requested by the manager.

    Education and Experience

    Associate Staff Analyst

    1. A Master's degree from an accredited college in economics, finance, accounting, business or public administration, human resources management, management science, operations research, organizational behavior, industrial psychology, statistics, personnel administration, labor relations, psychology, sociology, human resources development, political science, urban studies or a closely related field, and one (1) year of satisfactory full-time professional experience in one or a combination of the following: working with the budget of a large public or private concern in budget administration, accounting, economic or financial administration, or fiscal or economic research; in management or methods analysis, operations research, organizational research or program evaluation; in personnel or public administration, recruitment, position classification, personnel relations, employee benefits, staff development, employment program planning/administration, labor market research, economic planning, social services program planning/evaluation, or fiscal management or in a related area; or

    2. A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and three (3) years of satisfactory full-time professional experience in the areas described in 1 above.

    Staff Analyst I & Staff Analyst II

    1. A master’s degree from an accredited college or university in economics, finance, accounting, business or public administration, human resources management, management science, operations research, organizational behavior, industrial psychology, statistics, personnel administration, labor relations, psychology, sociology, human resources development, political science, or urban studies, or a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school; or

      1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and two years of satisfactory full-time professional experience in one or a combination of the following areas: working with the budget of a large public or private concern in budget administration, accounting, economic or financial administration, or fiscal or economic research; in management or methods analysis, operations research, organizational research or program evaluation; in personnel or public administration, recruitment, position classification, personnel relations, labor relations, employee benefits, staff development, employment program planning/administration, labor market research, economic planning, social services program planning/evaluation, or fiscal management; or in a related area; or

      2. An associate degree or completion of 60 semester credits from an accredited college or university and four years of satisfactory full-time professional experience as described in "2" above: or

      3. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and six years of satisfactory full-time professional experience as described in "2" above; or

      4. A combination of education and/or experience equivalent to "1", "2", "3", or "4" above. College education may be substituted for professional experience at the rate of 30 semester credits from an accredited college or university for one year of experience. However, all candidates must have a high school diploma.

    Special Note:

    To be eligible for placement in Assignment Level II, individuals must have, after meeting the minimum requirements, one additional year of professional experience as described in "2" above.
