What does a Loan Operations Lead Specialist do?

A Lead Loan Operations Specialist is an elite financial industry professional with very strong expertise in onboarding and servicing of loan accounts and supports CNB's lending areas in various ways during the loan origination process. This role plays a crucial part in the bank's mission to maintain a professional and team-oriented corporate culture through managing workflow, scheduling, and administration of an assigned team within Loan Operations. This role works under the guidance of a Loan Operations Supervisor to ensure all team functions are processed according to service standards. This role also promotes the bank's vision of leveraging the full capabilities of our people by ensuring we are continually developing Loan Operations personnel within the assigned team and coach team members to look for opportunities to exceed expectations in the marketplace in a way that honors CNB's Core Values. Individuals in this role have an exceptional grasp on Loan Operations functions, are subject matter experts throughout the loan portfolio, participate in various department and corporate projects, provide input to the department management team on prioritization of future projects, and have a strong focus on developing both themselves and those around them.

What is needed to be successful in this role?

  • An associate degree in business, accounting, or a related field normally required; bachelor degree preferred

  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a related position

  • Two or more (2+) years’ experience in a Loan Servicing Operations role strongly preferred

  • Loan Servicing experience in FISERV DNA strongly preferred

  • Specialized banking education and training, additional focus on Loan Products is highly desired

  • Moderate written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficient mathematics skill, including calculating interest accrual on accounts.

  • Proficient skills with Microsoft Office Products

What does a successful first year in this position look like?

  • Performs clerical duties: filing (including electronic), data input, data upload verification, processing various transactions on the bank’s core loan servicing system.

  • Provides support and guidance to loan origination areas during closing process (i.e. – Verify and troubleshoot insurance coverage requirements, loan documents and structure are operationally achievable, provide origination area with revisions to language requirements etc.).

  • Collaborates with loan origination areas to resolve issues identified in loan files. This includes both situations related to the loan onboarding process and issues identified during servicing.

  • Able to onboard all loan products through manual entry to the bank’s core loan servicing system if automated interfaces to applicable loan origination system is unavailable or fails. Provides support to team members to comply with system validation rules.

  • Responds to inquiries or requests for information.

  • Maintaining appropriate records and providing assigned written reports.

  • Monitors and acts on a variety of system generated exception reports.

  • Provides support to bank lenders on modifications to loan accounts and collaborates with lender to structure modification agreements.

  • Resolves all routine and all non-routine issues/disputes.

Compensation

The hourly range for this position is $21.50- $23.00. The actual salary offered within the range is dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, qualifications, skills, level offered, and performance expectations.
