The role you’ll contribute:

The Contract Manager will provide support to leader and division. This individual will lead the development and implementation of initiatives surrounding contracts. The Contract Manager will work directly with leadership and providers in developing, monitoring, and tracking provider compensation and other contractual arrangements. This individual will be a resource to leadership in reviewing all aspects of contracts, including provider compensation and other contractual arrangements within the division. Prepares and updates documents and presentations, creates communications and correspondence, coordinates meeting agendas and meeting minutes. Proactively leads project and status meetings by soliciting input from owners and participants, assuring agendas are in place and accurate and meeting outputs are available in a timely fashion. The Contract Manager will develop work plans, track progress and delivers status reports.

  • Manage the preparation of documents and reports for the Physician group.

  • Compile due diligence for submissions through the contract review process.

  • Prepare Physician Compensation Tool submissions for agreements; including compiling required documentation & obtaining internal approvals.

  • Maintain tracking report of all contract activity which includes new agreements and changes to existing agreements from inception through execution.

  • Assist with the development, monitoring and production of reporting dashboards.

  • Receive internal contract requests from Hospital Administration and other hospital leaders.

  • Ensure internal contract requests comply with system-wide physician contracting policies and guidelines.

  • Using the contract management system, create contract requests, upload supporting documentation, and submit contract requests for approval.

  • Facilitate with the Legal Department requests for revision to contract drafts from both physician and Hospital Administration.

  • Attend system-wide, regional, and facility-specific contract meetings.

  • Track all contract requests to ensure timely execution.

  • Using the contract management system, upload executed contracts, update the status of all executed contract requests, and close requests for cancelled requests or terminated contracts as appropriate.

  • Create and maintain records of all current contracts through the contract management system and/or supporting paper files as appropriate.

  • Monitor expiring contracts, ensuring that requests for renewal are submitted and/or extension letters are executed in a timely manner.

  • Validate all physician check requests against contracted compensation terms to ensure appropriate payment and relationships with physicians.

  • Investigate any discrepancies with specific departments or contracted providers.

  • Work with Accounts Payable to process approved requests or troubleshoot payment issues.

  • Notify the appropriate Corporate Responsibility and/or Legal associate of any concerns related to financial relationships with physicians.

  • Self-manage prioritization of department tasks and projects to ensure they are completed in the required timeframe.

  • Maintain appropriate confidentiality when communicating or investigating compliance related issues.

  • Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with legal services, management, compliance, risk, and finance teams to support regulatory and business requirements.

  • Manage contracting process flow for agreements and project requests.

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :

Minimum qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2 years Healthcare or Project Management experience OR Associate degree and 3 years Healthcare or Project Management experience

  • 1-3 years of experience in healthcare or contracting field

  • Familiar with health care, operational, and legal/paralegal processes, particularly in the area of physician contracting.

  • Excellent computer skills.

  • Extremely detail oriented with capability to prioritize and organize high volumes of tasks.

  • Quick learner able to communicate effectively with all position levels including CEO, CFO, and physicians.

  • Knowledge of specific physician contract laws and regulations imposed on health care systems by various agencies.

  • Good time management skills, highly organized, and great attention to detail.

  • Strong client-facing and teamwork skills.

  • Ability to influence change, clarify ambiguity, and mobilize team members at all levels in the organization for meaningful action.

  • Ability to work in a project-oriented, fast paced environment to meet deadlines.

  • Strong Microsoft Suite computer proficiency; Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook .

  • Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with contracting, including employment agreements, professional service agreements, management services agreements, leases and purchase agreements

  • Experience in provider compensation

  • Knowledge of basic financial terms
