Work You'll Do Drive software development and implementation services to help companies unlock the value of big technology investments, ranging from requirements to architecture, design to development, testing to deployment, and beyond as discrete services or comprehensive solutions. Participate in setting engagement objectives and scope, develop work plans for components of engagements, coordinate activities between workstreams and identify changes in scope. Drive the evaluation of technology needs, develop customized applications and draft technical and functional design documentation. Identify and mitigate risks in process and technology for engagements. Perform assessments of existing information systems and identify gaps between business requirements and current system capabilities; estimate time and resources needed for the development work. Define systems strategy, develop system requirements, design, prototype, and test custom technology solutions, and support system implementation. Transform detailed requirements into a complete, detailed systems design document; support creation of interface specifications and call flows for the various components in the design. Gain exposure to multiple industries and service lines while demonstrating an awareness of the full breadth of services offered by engagement follow-on opportunities.      • 50% Travel required nationally.      • Telecommuting permitted.      • Work location includes various unanticipated Deloitte office locations and client sites nationally.

Requirements Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Business Administration, any STEM field, or a related field. Must have 2 years of related work experience in the job offered or in a related occupation. Position requires 2 years of related work experience in each of the following:      • Designing and developing applications using IBM z/VSE and z/OS operating system for IBM Mainframe computers to meet functional needs for software applications;      • Delivering and deploying custom developed applications for clients, including prototyping, code development utilizing Agile, SAFe Agile and traditional Waterfall methodologies;      • Developing application logic using procedural oriented programming language COBOL/APS-COBOL, PL/I, Job Control Language (JCL), REXX (Restructure Extended Executor) and databases IBM DB2, IMS-DB, and VSAM/BDAM files;      • Performing online software development in VSE and ZOS development environments and web services utilizing Batch Message Processing (BMP), CICS (Customer Information Control System), CICS Macro Level Interpreter, IMS-DC, Messaging Queue (MQ), CICS Web Services, XML, and JSON formats;      • Enhacing the efficency of application development using SORT, DFSORT, SYNCSORT, ICETOOL, and Easytrieve;      • Deploying and launching automation solutions using Endevor and Changeman version controlling tools, and GITHUB scheduling tools SAR, CA-7, CONTROL-M, and ZEKE;      • Performing data preparation, cleansing and conversions, interface design and development, and systems development life cycle (SDLC), utilizing SPUFI (Sequential Processign using File Input), QMF (Query Management Facility), BMC DB2 Utilities, and Fileaid FOR DB2/IMS; and      • Triaging defects and change requests, escalations and urgent issues in production environment utilizing debugging tools Xpediter, ABEND-AID, IBM Debugger and incident/issue tracking using Jira, ServiceNow, and VFIRE platforms.
