Job Summary The position performs functions within the marketing department that: Provide guidance and direction to the training and development of the commercial teams globally. Training participants will be assessed on their competency on content, demonstration of retention of content, application of skills and demonstrated success on the job. This process of demonstrating competency will be referred to as certification. Certification shall be measured and compared to completion of quarterly and annual commercial goals. Provide oversight to development, delivery, measures of success, and curriculum completion for all components of commercial training and development. Stay abreast of industry training and development trends, provide continuous focus on strategies that support achievement of evolving commercial priorities. The position requires the necessary leadership skills that will help lead Meridian Diagnostic team to meet and exceed the company's goals in the area of sales and profits. Key Duties Tasks/Duties/Responsibilities: Achieve 100% completion of Commercial Training and Development Plan for each year. Develop and implement learning curriculum for New Sales Representatives, all existing Sales Personnel, IDN and Strategic Account Representatives, Sales Managers, and Marketing Product Managers. Leverage multiple learning modalities for curriculum that encompasses product knowledge, competitive knowledge, skills, territory / business planning, and tools / resources. Develop curriculum with user input and buy-in for effective field leadership and training utilization and follow up. House all training curriculum and materials within an effective Learning Management System Field travel with participants of all training programs to measure effectiveness, provide feedback and assess completion of training objectives. Develop and manage process for routine communication of feedback for trainees and communications of their performance with managers. Drive compliance to all field training curriculum, learning objectives, and practical ongoing use of skills & tools. Handle administrative tasks as deemed necessary by the Director of Marketing. Ensure that the trainee's administrative responsibilities are completed in a timely and accurate manner. Develop the annual training expense budget. Once budgeted, monitor and manage the expenses versus budget. Develop and present annual training and development plans Be responsible for scheduling and leading regional sales meetings as necessary in conjunction with the Regional Manager. Take part in the planning and leading of national meetings when appropriate. Assure trainee compliance with Sales Logix as required. Maintain adherence to the company's policies and procedures throughout all learning and development programs. Continually develop one's own management skills and abilities. Develop and execute a personal development plan annually. Provide and accept critical assessment and feedback
