Position Overview The Riverside Research Engineering and Support Solutions (ESS) directorate conducts Research and Development (R&D) of cyber-physical attacks against embedded systems. As a Test Engineer III, you will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of research engineers and scientists on a range of microelectronics research projects. You must possess a strong knowledge of software defined radios (SDR) and be experienced in low-level coding techniques. As an experienced test engineer, you will utilize your advanced understanding from extensive hands-on experience with relevant test and measurement equipment (spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, etc). The position is in Dayton OH and requires a Top Secret security clearance (SCI Eligible). Remote work is not available for this position. Travel is not expected to exceed two to three times a year. Responsibilities Conduct hands-on test and measurement activities and procedures for measuring RF signals and microelectronic components. Plan, validate, set-up, execute and maintain test environments with minimal direct supervision. Develop and deliver regression test plan and reports with minimal direct supervision. Document work, procedures, and findings clearly using your technical writing experience. Work effectively and productively in a collaborative team environment. Be accountable to team lead and Principal Investigator for reporting and managing assigned work plans, timelines, and deliverables. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Qualifications Active DoD Top Secret (TS/SCI or SCI Eligible). Proficiency with planning, build, and maintenance of relevant test environments. Experience developing and delivering regression test plans and reports. Hands-on experience with relevant test and measurement equipment (spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, etc). Expert proficiency with soldering on microelectronics (through-hole and surface mount) Experience programming in C and Assembly for embedded microcontrollers. Ability to manage timelines, product delivery, product quality with minimal supervision. Able to work individually as a member of a multi-discipline team with minimal supervision. Willing to work in a secure US Government facility. Bachelor's degree in a EE or related technical area with 5+ years relevant experience, a related technical Master's degree with 3+ years relevant experience, or a PhD in a related technical area. Desired Qualifications Experience with GnuRadio or Redhawk. Technical writing experience. Python (preferred) or other scripting experience. Experience working in a secure US Government facility is desired. Global Comp $105,000 - $120,000 This represents the typical compensation range for this position based on experience, location and other factors.
