Position Overview:

The Project Superintendent will oversee the planning, organization, and execution of construction projects. The Project Superintendent is a full-time position that requires travel and overtime through peak season, reports to the Paving Division Manager, and has supervisory responsibility.

    General Duties and Functions:

  • Oversee the construction project from start to finish

  • Managing relationships with stakeholders and clients being able to teach, coach, and work with the team in a constructive manner

  • Be prompt and timely for all assigned shifts, schedules, and projects

  • Be aware of and familiar with the Company Handbook

  • Additional duties as assigned by management, as this job description is non-exhaustive

  • Willingness to perform duties outside the normal scope of work (i.e. work in poor weather conditions or outside normal hours)

    Essential Duties and Functions:

  • Compliance with all project safety and environmental requirements

  • Overseeing the planning, organization, and execution of construction projects related to highways, roads, and other related infrastructure

  • Managing and supervising personnel, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, monitoring project progress, and coordinating with other departments and subcontractors to ensure timely completion of the project

  • Understand federal and state contract requirements

  • Be on-site to oversee and lead all construction processes/phasing

  • Understand project plans and specification

  • Communicate professionally with the team, contractors, public officials, and owner representatives

    Position Requirements:

  • Consent to authorization of a pre-employment work screen, Motor Vehicle Record Request, and drug test

  • Be adept with computers and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, )

  • Minimum 5 years of experience

  • Strong leadership and communication skills, project management experience, familiarity with construction materials and methods, and a keen eye for detail

  • High level of reasoning abilities (i.e. Meeting deadlines, Prioritize Company and customer needs, serving as a leader to both peers and direct reports)
