Robert Half Event Planner & Facilities in Durham, North Carolina

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Facilities Assistant role in the non-profit industry, located in Durham, North Carolina. The primary function of this role is to assist with the organization and scheduling of events, liaise with coordinators at partnering businesses, and collaborate with the team to design promotional materials. This role may require travel and occasional weekend commitments.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting in the planning and organization of non-profit events

• Acting as the main point of contact for businesses that partner with the non-profit

• Collaborating closely with the team to develop promotional materials for events

• Helping to maintain the current business while also bringing in new business

• Adapting to a flexible work schedule to accommodate different shift work and occasional weekend duties

• Managing email marketing and direct marketing campaigns for the promotion of non-profit events

• Handling key account management and account maintenance tasks

• Coordinating events and handling event coordination tasks

• Following up with partners and stakeholders through virtual interviews

• Using skills in event handling to ensure smooth execution of non-profit events

• Carrying out any other duties that may be required in line with the role of a Facilities Assistant Requirements • Experience in a facilities management role, ideally within the non-profit sector.

• Proficiency with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook and other relevant software.

• Experience with 'About Time' software will be an advantage.

• Ability to manage conference rooms and other communal spaces effectively.

• Basic understanding of construction principles and practices.

• Outstanding customer service skills and the ability to interact with diverse groups of people.

• Strong documentation skills with an attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think quickly under pressure.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures.
