We are seeking to hire an experienced Accounting Professional for anAccounting Assistantposition in our Forest Hill, Maryland corporate headquarters. The primary responsibilities of theAccounting Assistantinvolvehandling various entry duties daily that are assigned by management.This full-time employment opportunity in scenic Harford County offers you experience that will advance your career, knowledge growth, and professional development.

General Responsibilities:

  • Assist the accounting team with daily financial reporting responsibilities and the month end close process for the general ledger including preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts.
  • Work closely with the purchasing team and accounts payable to handle proper accounting for all purchases including ensuring sales and use tax is paid or accrued.
  • Run reports monthly and prepare financial analysis.
  • Work independently on various financial projects.
  • Handle general tax duties including but not limited to sales and business taxes.
  • Work independently on various financial projects.
  • Other general accountant duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Field experience in accounting as either an intern or employee a plus but not required.
  • Experience or knowledge with various accounting programs including but not limited to QuickBooks, Great Plains Accounting Software, Peachtree, Microsoft Office Suite, etc. a plus.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent organization skills.
