Job Description

ProAmpac Franklin Park has an immediate opening for a press operator in its labels printing department.

Position Summary

This position is responsible for meeting the goals and objectives of the organization by operating and maintaining press machinery used in the manufacturing process, in addition to, ensuring compliance with all safety and quality standards.

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines as well as Mark Andy printing press. Employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands/fingers to type, hold, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Tasks

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made, upon request, to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Safely sets up, operates, and monitors press machinery and equipment as intended and needed to meet customer and production goals.

  • Completes press machine setup for production runs, including loading materials, adjusting settings, and calibrating equipment to ensure proper operation.

  • Monitors the production process, inspects and tests materials and equipment using safe and proper protocols, to ensure products meet quality standards and production quotas are met.

  • Verifies and tracks all materials for inventory and work in progress regulations.

  • Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions and perform routine maintenance tasks to keep machinery operating efficiently.

  • Trains and provides guidance to machine assistants and new crew members.

  • Keeps machinery and surrounding areas organized by meeting housekeeping, storage, staging, and cleanliness requirements.

  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures, to prevent accidents or injuries. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment(PPE) as required by safety policies and reports any safety hazards or concerns to the appropriate team member.

  • Completes all necessary documentation for internal or external use.

  • Effectively works with other departments or team members, such as machine technicians, supervisors, and quality control inspectors, to coordinate production activities and address any potential issues as they arise.
