The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream from procurement to design and manufacturing to distribution. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurement and the design and manufacture of Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters).

Job Summary

As a Production Manager at Caterpillar, you will supervise and provide leadership to associates and team leads. We are looking for individuals with a desire to help drive business improvements, results and develop their career in Caterpillar. A willingness to relocate to maximize career opportunities would be beneficial in this position as well as an openness to explore career development paths in other functional areas such as manufacturing engineering, supply chain, transportation etc in the future.

Additional Info

  • The hours for this position are 3rd shift (7:00pm - 6:00am Monday - Thursday, 7:00pm - 5am Friday)

  • Section Managers may need to work outside the regularly scheduled hours due to increased needs of the business

  • This position is located in Griffin, GA and does not offer relocation

What You Will Do

  • Creating reports and records of production processes, tools issues performance, and inventory; sharing them with managers and providing suggestions to improve safety, productivity and quality.

  • Preparing, maintaining, and updating documentation related to operating procedures and safety and quality standards; ensuring all processes and products meet desired safety and quality standards.

  • Supervising and directing the daily activities of production lines workers, assigning tasks, ensuring coordination between different teams, ensuring their safety and monitoring their performance.

  • Training new hires, managing scheduling and work conflicts, monitoring safety, and promoting internal communication to create a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

What You Have

  • Logistics Management: Knowledge of the processes, tools and operational considerations for effective and efficient movement of goods and materials; ability to understand, predict and control the movement of goods, materials and supplies

  • Warehouse Management: Knowledge of the policies, processes and systems of warehouse management; ability to effectively manage one or more warehouses or distribution centers

  • Process Improvement: Understanding and insight into evaluating current product quality and production methods and ability to maintains focus on the continuous improvement of processes, products and services

  • Talent Management: Knowledge of human resources and talent management processes; ability to lead, motivate, evaluate, and reward employees at the workplace.

What Will Set You Apart

  • Bachelors degree

  • Experience in Warehousing, Manufacturing, Logistics

  • Team lead or other leadership experience

  • SAP, MTS, Microsoft Office experience
