Job Description: In Hanover, PA we produce Rings and Seals for the Aerospace and Industrial markets. Extreme product range fragmentation, complex product design, very high-quality standards and traceability requirements are the peculiarity of our Business Unit. The Inspector performs a wide variety of difficult steps for the inspection and measurement of semi-finished, finished, and assembled aerospace and industrial seals and components for visual and dimensional defects. All hourly employees will be part of the United Steelworkers Union (USW). Due to the nature of the business, each candidate must be a US Citizen.

Responsibilities Include but Not Limited to: Interpret and explain complex blueprints. Use prints, specifications, and established routines, setup complex parts for inspection activities. Perform routine inspections and floor inspections of production parts as required. Operate CMM, and related equipment using extreme care and accuracy of programs to avoid crashing the machine(s). Assist engineering on prototype work and measurements. Perform 1st piece layouts for customer requirements. Create and keep accurate records and reports of all inspection work performed. Work closely with others to assure continuity. Inform supervision of all discrepancies found and assist in the preparation of any reports of such material. Evaluate customer rejects to determine defect responsibility. Setup, adjust, and check measuring equipment. Assure tooling, gauges are maintained in good condition, properly stored. Maintain the work area in a clean, orderly, and safe condition.

Use Precision Measuring Instruments Such as: inside, depth, and outside micrometers plug and ring gauges, height, thread, and special fixed gages. hole location gages federal, phonocentric optical comparator profilometer hardness tests Use Specialized Equipment Such as: Zeiss CMM, Brown & Sharp CMM, Mitutoyo CMM optical comparator with digital output, optical flats, permascope, mahr form Work to tolerances to 00002

Requirements: HSD or GED required. Must be able to read and understand blueprints. Knowledge of measurement equipment such as gauges and mics. Vision must be correctable to 20/25. Comprehensive communication skills in the English language via electronic communications and in-person. Proficient computer skills, comfortable working with Windows Microsoft applications. Refers to supervisor for clarification of priorities, objectives, or policies. All hourly employees will be part of the United Steelworkers Union (USW)
