JOB DESCRIPTION:

POSITION SUMMARY: The Maintenance Planner will lead and develop the planning and scheduling team in prioritizing planned maintenance activities utilizing internal and external labor. Working closely with operations and maintenance teams to plan the most efficient repairs and tasks with appropriate skills levels to minimize impact safely and successfully to equipment uptime. This role will be responsible for maintenance spare part storeroom accuracy, kitting of required tools and parts to complete work orders and obtaining and tracking parts that are not readily available. Utilizing information derived from the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and communication with a variety of sources within the Bendix organization, to track metrics, develop and produce reports aligning strategies complying with Reliability Excellence Programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: 1. Forecasts work, parts, materials, and tools in advance of the actual due date using the EAM. 2. Uses the EAM to determine inventory availability for parts and materials needed. 3. Uses the EAM to determine what in house labor resources will be available and when needed. 4. Integrates into the EAM, meter readings, condition, time, or other triggers to determine needed Maintenance activities. 5. Utilizes the EAM to generate reports for labor, cost, work order completion, work order compliance, work backlog, parts inventory, downtime, and others. 6. Manages purchase requisitions for parts, materials, and contractors needed to complete upcoming activities. 7. Follows up on purchase requisitions and communicate issues to assure purchase orders are generated in a timely manner. 8. Reports plans, status, problems, and concerns to the Site Maintenance Leader. 9. Supports continuous improvement activities where appropriate. 10. Monitors planned work to determine improvements in method, process, and other related issues. 11. Conducts and/or participates in meetings related to the planning of maintenance activities. 12. Participates in meetings and activities with the Reliability Engineers to develop and or improve maintenance plans and methods. 13. Works with vendors and contractors to ensure planned work completion. 14. Performs his/her job within acceptable safety, environmental, quality, productivity and performance standards as outlined in plant policies, handbooks, and applicable work instructions. 15. Understands and adhere to current health, safety, and environmental policies (ISO14001). Is empowered to identify, stop, and communicate or escalate appropriate action regarding safety, health, and environmental concerns. 16. Understands current quality policies and procedures (IATF 16949). Is empowered to identify, stop, and communicate or escalate appropriate action regarding product quality. 17. Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned

QUALIFICATIONS: Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or similar field. An Associates degree in Industrial Maintenance with at least 7 years of experience would be considered in lieu of Bachelor's degree. Requires at least five years of extensive experience with trouble shooting and correcting equipment failures. Demonstrated expert capability in the use of an enterprise asset management system. Experience with the Plant Maintenance Module of SAP is preferred. Requires in-depth knowledge of complex commercial and institutional maintenance procedures, including basic electricity, HVAC, energy management, and pneumatic control systems. Demonstrates and maintains courteous, cooperative relations when interacting with other personnel and the public. Requires thorough knowledge of shop mathematics and blueprint reading skills. Demonstrates analytical ability necessary to perform calculations, interpret data from blueprints and manuals, diagnose problems with equipment and solve problems. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required. Must be able to work in a team orientated environment. Must be able to follow instructions, safety rules and regulations.

Working Hours

Monday-Friday 8am-5pm core hours +OT
