DESCRIPTION OF WORK This position offers a unique opportunity for the selected candidate to increase skills in public relations in a State Park by planning, preparation, and completion of specialized park improvement projects. You will assist in maintaining park facilities, grounds keeping activities, servicing trains, and removing invasive plant species. Additionally, you will assist the environmental education specialist in facilitating and presenting education/interpretive and recreation programs for the public, as well as working directly with volunteers in organizing and supporting their efforts.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment The employment period will occur between the dates of 5/1/24 - 8/30/24. Student may work nights and weekends, not to exceed 37.5 hours a week. Typical hours 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Internship Requirements: Current full-time enrollment in a two-year degree, bachelor's degree or advanced degree program in one of the following acceptable majors: Natural Sciences Park and Recreation Fields Wildlife Management An approved major course which includes a qualifying 24 credit hours of study in the physical, biological and environmental sciences may be acceptable. Freshman year completed Good academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher) Pennsylvania residency or enrollment at a Pennsylvania college or university

Additional Requirements: This position requires possession of a valid Class C non-commercial driver's license. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
