Position Description: This person will be required to work well with middle school aged students in the SPARK program located at Haysville Middle School. We have a position open for our summer program. We focus on enrichment activities while enhancing academics during the summer for kids. We need creative, flexible individuals to join our team.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Promote and stimulate program participation.
• Provide guidance and role modeling to members.
• Quickly administer discipline when needed, in a fair manner in accordance to SPARK rules.
• Monitor and evaluate programs and activities to ensure safety of members, quality of programs and appearance of SPARK at all times.
• May need to participate in special programs and events.
• Generate ideas for program activities and take initiative to develop new activities.

Skills:

• Ability to plan, implement, and lead activities for middle school youth in the summer program.
• Ability to motivate youth to engage and participate in activities.
• Ability to promote positive behavior and manage behavior problems.
• Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
• Ability to work in a busy, fast paced environment and demonstrate flexibility.
• Ability to educate youth through games and activities.

  • Working with students in the summer program to actively engage and participate in scheduled activities.
  • Activities are both indoors and outdoors, including field trips and other offsite activities. .
