SUPERIOR COMMERCIAL CONCRETE L L C CDL-A Truck driver (Heavy) in Italy, Texas

The Truck Driver will be responsible for safely transporting equipment and materials to and from various locations without incident. This position involves local and long-distance hauling as well as loading, unloading, and securing the cargo safely. This position will also be responsible for adhering to all DOT and FMCSA standards and guidelines as outlined in 49CFR.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver equipment and materials via flatbed and step deck trailers.
  • Safely load/off-load heavy equipment and materials.
  • Secure cargo for transport, using straps, ropes, blocks, chain, or binders.
  • When necessary, obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and check all load-related documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Maintain daily records or pre-trip/post-trip inspection of vehicle and accurate mileage logbooks in compliance with DOT guidelines and company policies.
  • Communicate with dispatch to ensure equipment and materials are delivered on time and as efficiently as possible.
  • Keep trucks clean and in orderly condition.
  • Assist maintenance with minor repairs as needed.
  • Responsible for washing equipment returning from the field.
  • Properly follow all DOT, Company and OHSA/MSHA regulations for a safe working environment.
  • Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule to include overtime and an occasional weekend layover.
  • Must be available to travel: Locally throughout Texas 100% and Out of state 50% (Company paid hotels and per diem)
  • Perform other general labor duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, or GED, required.
  • Three (3) or more years of haul truck experience required.
  • Possess a valid Class A CDL license.
  • Must have a clean PSP.
  • Must have a clean MVR with no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years and no DUI/DWI or clearinghouse violations.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and DOT physical.
  • Must be able to lift and handle loads up to 50 pounds.
  • Familiarity with heavy equipment and securing loads utilizing flatbed trailers and weight distribution.
  • Familiarity with Federal, State and Local regulations and laws regarding transportation.
  • Preferably someone with experience operating construction equipment
