PPG Industries Distribution Center Night Shift Supervisor in Lima, Ohio

As the Distribution Center Shift Supervisor, you will help oversee the shift operations at the Distribution Center. The primary focus is on ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for all employees while managing the warehouse team to exceed performance goals and compliance standards.

Working onsite at our Lima, Ohio facility reporting directly to the Senior Distribution Manager you will also implement management processes to promote safe work behavior.

Job Type:

Full-time with some overtime

Schedule:

3rd shift, 10:00pm -- 6:30am

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a safe and healthy work environment through proper maintenance of equipment and facilities.
  • Eliminate health hazards to prevent work stoppage and time loss due to accidents.
  • Ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety regulations and policies.
  • Supervise the warehouse team, ensuring adherence to company policies and safety procedures.
  • Implement training programs to meet compliance standards and enhance personal and team performance.
  • Encourage continuous improvement of individual performance and exceed Performance Appraisal Program (PAP) goals.
  • Manage associates to achieve or exceed service, quality, and cost control requirements.
  • Facilitate regular team meetings to enhance communication between shifts and teams.
  • Report weekly and monthly productivity (Picking Rate) by shift associates.
  • Ensure compliance with training requirements for federal, state, and company regulations.
  • Monitor daily/weekly time reporting, reviewing and approving in the Kronos system.
  • Coordinate relationships with 3rd party staffing provider to meet seasonal coverage needs.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years distribution or manufacturing work experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, logistics, supply chain, engineering, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with the operations of power equipment.
  • Previous leadership experience with the potential for advancement to other leadership positions.
  • Proficient in WHIMS R/F (software environment), Microsoft excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets) & Office at a minimum.
