Essential Duties:
As a Clinical Nurse II, you will perform a variety of tasks specific to the needs of the patient population in the Hepatobiliary Surgery Program, including the following.
Assist the Assistant Nurse Manager with coordination of patient care, retrieval of diagnostic work-up, data entry into CS-Link
Provides and accurately documents direct and indirect patient care services that ensures the safety, comfort, personal hygiene, and protection of patients in a timely manner.
Provides care and patient education on disease management, treatment, and procedures
Observes signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to medications/treatments, general behavior, and/or general physical condition.
Demonstrates knowledge and is able to identify and make special adjustments as required to the specific populations needs, including cultural, spiritual, age, psychosocial, communication, gender, sexual orientation, economic, education, family and condition needs.
Demonstrates refined assessment skills, integrating appropriate data sources to assess the signs, symptoms, reactions, behaviors, or general appearance to determine normal versus abnormal characteristics.
Identifies and assesses patient safety concerns with respect to age and developmental considerations. Intervenes to provide a safe environment and evaluates effectiveness of intervention for patient.
Participates in evidence-based improvement initiatives and/or councils/committees that improve nursing outcomes and the work environment in the Hepatobiliary Surgery Program.
Clearly and accurately communicates pertinent information to physicians and co-workers.
Assumes responsibility and accountability for the expert application of the nursing process and delivery of patient care
Serves as a patient advocate in the program
Maintains competency skills including the ability to provide care to special patient populations and patients with diverse cultural backgrounds
Identify the ability of the adolescent, adult and geriatric patients to follow direction/instructions and give consent
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Education:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program required
BSN preferred
Experience:
A minimum of 3 years of acute care nursing experience required
Experience in Med Surg or ICU preferred
License/Certification:
Current, unrestricted California RN license required
American Heart Association BLS certification required
