Description

Robert Half is recruiting a detail-oriented and skilled Staff Accountant experienced in General Ledger Accounting and grant management, to serve a respected nonprofit organization in downtown Los Angeles. This contract-to-hire position affords the chosen candidate an invaluable opportunity to advance their career in a vibrant nonprofit environment!

Job Responsibilities:

  • Handle the preparation, analysis, and maintenance of the General Ledger, ensuring timely and accurate recording of all financial transactions.

  • Carry out grant-related financial tasks, from initial application and budgeting to final reporting for federal, state, and foundation grants.

  • Develop financial reports and conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with grant requirements.

  • Collaborate with administration and program directors to monitor grant budgets, adjust forecasts, and create accurate financial or cost allocation plans as per grant guidelines.

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports and statements.

  • Collaborate with senior accountants to improve and automate accounting processes.

    Requirements • Minimum of three years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar

• Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management

• Demonstrated experience with Bank Reconciliations

• Proficient in managing General Ledger

• Experience in creating and managing Journal Entries

• Proven expertise in Month End Close process

• Strong knowledge of accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP

• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferable

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity

• Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information

• Strong time management and prioritization skills

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

• Knowledge of applicable accounting laws and regulations.
