LLFLEX Production Operator in Louisville, Kentucky

Summary: Performs variety of activities related to the operation of equipment used to create products in a manufacturing setting. This includes responsibilities for machine operation, material movement via forklifts, production record-keeping, production of quality products, cleaning activities.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  1. High School diploma or equivalent. Prior experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

  2. Must be able to follow written and verbal procedures and instructions.

  3. Must be able to work safely in a manufacturing environment involving high speed machines.

  4. Must be able to work in a team environment.

    Physical Ability

  • Range of motion and flexibility – ability to reach and perform work above shoulder height (frequently), perform full arm extensions (frequently), bending forward from the waist (occasionally), turn head/neck to side (frequently)

  • Standing for long periods of time, walking short distances frequently, wearing steel-toe safety shoes for full shift

  • Manual dexterity/motor skills – operate button controls on control panels, and overhead hoist pendants, precise placement of tape and small labels, operate pallet jack, use cutting instruments, perform manual dexterity tasks while wearing gloves

  • Lifting – ability to lift weights up to 40 lbs. frequently, and maneuvering skids weighing up to 85 lbs. occasionally

  • Pushing/pulling – ability to frequently apply force by pushing or pulling to separate bobbins

  • Forceful exertions – ability to occasionally use a rubber mallet to apply force to separate bobbins

  • Ability to carry heavy objects, up to 40 lbs., for short distances

  • Ability to work for extended periods (full shift) in temperatures above 90 F, with variable humidity (seasonal)

    Typical work shift may require

Standing: >45% of time

Sitting: < 25% of time

Walking: >30%

Overtime is a requirement of the job. 8-12 hrs daily work schedule M-F and as required a sixth day/week.

Visual

  • Ability to see objects at least 20 ft away

  • Ability to read small print (labels, work orders)

  • Normal depth perception and peripheral vision

  • Ability to discern colors (lights on control panels)

  • Wear safety glasses for full shift

  • Ability to see variations in color, texture, appearance for quality control

    Hearing

  • Ability to use hearing protection for full shift

  • Ability to distinguish speech and audible alarms

  • Work in a noisy environment

    Communication

  • Ability to communicate verbally

  • Ability to write legibly (record production information)

    Other Abilities

  • Ability to perform multiple tasks

  • Ability to react quickly to an upset condition, and make decisions to resolve

  • Ability to work independently, and safely

  • Ability to concentrate on tasks, and maintain awareness of environment

Training will be completed within 90-working day probationary period on day shift (7A to 3P). After training, incumbent will be moved to either second (3P to 11P) or third (11P to 7A) shift

40 hour work with with strong potential for overtime. Overtime includes pre- or post- shift time as well as Saturdays
