Kellanova Senior Manager, Category Management in Naperville, Illinois

Grow with us as a Sr. Manager, Category Management working on our Regional Grocery Category Management Team. This is a fully remote position, and we are actively seeking top talent across the Eastern or Central US, in addition to major U.S. cities.

As an integral part of the Kellanova team, you will support the Regional Grocery business by leading a dynamic team focused on providing increased capability for category management tools, training, and best practices. You will align with the customers’ priorities by executing forward-looking omni-category strategies, gaining insights beyond our categories and within our occasions. You will manage the relationship between Kellanova and a third-party resource provider to engage in Category Management activities against Kellanova’s strategic initiatives. Additionally, you will identify top opportunities to pursue. Imagine shaping the future of our business, making a difference while leading and driving transformative change within our Category Management team.

A Taste of What You’ll Be Doing

  • Develop Learning Agenda with Customer – As a business consultant, you will collaborate with strategic wholesale customers, optimize our offerings, and identify growth opportunities. You will also build strong internal and external relationships to strengthen the business.

  • Unlock Insights Through Data & Analytics – Bring your intellectual curiosity by creating robust insights based on analytics of the consumer, shopper, occasion, category, retailer, and industry. Your analytical and technical skills will serve you well as you lead the team through the development of compelling and profitable business building recommendations.

  • Build Fact-Based, Measurable and Holistic Strategies – Your project management skills will be key in leading strategic customer-specific initiatives designed to deliver category growth. You will Present and negotiate projects around product and placement, leveraging tools and resources to identify and test solutions that address shopper problems

  • Bring Occasion-Based Category Vision to Life – Finalizing exceptional execution plans will be key to your success as you see an initiative completed as planned.   You and your team will conduct key customer calls and promote a customer-centered culture that strives to exceed customer needs, requirements, and expectations.

  • Empower and Develop Talen t - Utilize your leadership skills to direct the professional development of your category management team, putting effective goals in place. This will be essential to foster an inclusive, dynamic, and cross-functional experience that promotes business success, team growth, and a healthy and vibrant culture

    We’re Looking for Someone With

  • High school diploma or GED required; BA/BS preferred.

  • Significant industry experience in areas such as category management, shopper insights and/or sales.

  • Previous experience communicating complex and/or detailed information to multiple individuals/audiences with differing knowledge levels, both in writing and verbally.

  • Previous experience in leading and developing a team

  • Ability to draw conclusions, address key opportunities, understand and apply market research tools to create selling stories.

  • Proficiency in using syndicated data (i.e. Nielsen, Circana), and retailer specific loyalty card data, shopper panel metrics and space planning software. (JDA, Apollo or Spaceman).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
