Chemours is seeking an Electrical Trades Apprentice to join our Operations team! This position will report directly to the Lab Maintenance Supervisor .

The Electrical Trades Apprentice under the guidance of an experienced colleague will receive specialized on the job training. This role involves tasks such as adhering to workplace procedures, following health and safety guidance, and completing tasks related to supporting active operations by maintaining and servicing mechanical and electrical equipment.

Location: Newark, De

Hours: Part-time schedule up to 20 hours per week

Term: 12–18-month assignment between June-June 2025

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Must work in full compliance and with the approved safety guidance and lab personnel

  • Follow written standard operating procedures

  • Assist with executing preventative maintenance job plans for repetitive work

  • Identifying and repairing components of a machine, by troubleshooting, making repairs or installing new parts

  • Document daily records of inspections, maintenance activity, repairs, and other work performed within approved guidelines and procedures

The following is required for this role:

  • Enrollment at New Castle County Vo-Tech School District at time of assignment

  • High school student enrolled in Electrical Trades program

  • Mechanical aptitude in dealing with wrenches, hammers, and other similar tools

  • Good mathematical skills and strong attention to detail

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to work well and receive feedback from others

The following is preferred for this role :

  • 3.0 GPA or above

  • Good adhering to strict safety guidelines and conscious of safety risks

  • Knowledge of troubleshooting techniques to solve equipment issues

  • Ability to effectively read documents such as specifications, machine manuals and blueprints

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
