Summary About the position: This position will be assigned to the ?Heritage Center Falcon Club on Niagara Falls Air Reserve Base, New York. The position is a flexible position, which means you are not guaranteed hours or benefits but could work anywhere between 0 and 40 hours per week. Flex employees will be eligible for the use of the fitness center, lodging, and other activities. Position requires working irregular schedules, to include weekends, holidays, and all shifts. Responsibilities Responsible for greeting guests and escorting them to their seats based on established seating guide. Takes reservations and sets up tables for large groups. Informs guests of dinner specials. May be required to receive and submit initial patron drink orders. At the end of the meal, accepts the check from the customer, totals up the sale, and accepts payment, providing change as necessary. Payment may be made in the form of cash, check, or credit card. At the end of each tour of duty, the incumbent clears the cash register, completes all supporting documentation and submits to supervisor. Elevates problems to supervisor for resolution. Maintains hostess station and register in clean and orderly condition. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience: Applicant must have experience in clerical, office or retail work of any kind in which the applicant demonstrated the ability to perform satisfactorily at the grade level of the position. Experience must include demonstrated ability to perform common arithmetic problems, to make change when receiving payments from customers, and to use cash accountability control methods. Must possess good communication skills and skills in dealing with the public. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying. Additional Information Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
