As an Associate Counselor, you'll play a vital role in guiding clients towards recovery through personalized treatment plans and empowering interventions. This position involves assisting individuals with mental health and/or substance use disorders to improve their daily living and working abilities. Under the close supervision of a Qualified Addiction Professional, you'll participate in screening/assessment processes, develop individualized treatment plans, facilitate group counseling sessions, and provide ongoing support throughout the recovery journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in screening/assessment processes and develop individualized treatment plans under supervision

  • Facilitate group counseling sessions, family conferences, and individual interventions

  • Document services provided according to regulatory and agency standards

  • Maintain positive professional relationships with clients, coworkers, and referral sources

  • Handle crisis situations and notify supervisors when necessary

  • Participate in clinical staffing/team meetings and provide feedback

  • Complete annual training requirements and maintain professional development

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

  • A trainee meeting requirements for registration, supervision, and professional development as set forth by:

  • The Missouri Credentialing Board, Inc.

  • The appropriate board of professional registration with the Department of Economic Development for licensure as a psychologist, professional counselor, or social worker

Required License/Certification (one of the following):

  • A trainee meeting requirements for registration, supervision, and professional development as set forth by the state's appropriate credentialing board

Additional Qualifications:

  • Willingness to become licensed in additional states and provide telehealth services

  • Successful completion of background check, including criminal record, driving record, and abuse/neglect

  • Completion of New Hire Orientation, Relias Learning, and other training requirements

  • First Aid and CPR certification within 3 months of employment

  • Behavioral Management training completed within 30 days of employment

  • Obtain driver's license in state of residency

  • Sedentary work: exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally
