Senior Program Manager, Environmental Justice

To this end we seek you: a high-performing, creative individual to join our team as a Senior Program Manager, Environmental Justice.

  • This role is located either in one or all hub locations - Atlanta, GA, Washington, D.C., Redmond, WA, San Antonio, TX or Phoenix, AZ.

  • Relocation support will be provided, and successful candidates must relocate or reside within 50 miles of the hub office location.

  • This role is eligible for hybrid or remote work, up to 100%.

Responsibilities

Program Management

  • Manages internal and external cross-functional partnerships, monitors and resolves issues without additional escalation, defines processes and governance for on-boarding and managing partnerships, influences near-term sourcing decisions by discussing details and implications (e.g., quality, tradeoffs, pricing), and seeks to align sustainability investments with supply needs to ensure we meet sustainability goals.

Strategic Sourcing

  • Defines, maintains, and executes on sourcing strategy for sustainability to ensure advantaged cost and sufficient continuity of supply while meeting quality goals (e.g., environmental and community co-benefits, etc.). Partners with cross-functional teams to develop sourcing strategies and influence program decisions.

  • Researches markets, competitors, and industry trends. Performs analyses of supplier pricing, cost, capabilities, and capacity to provide materials and/or components for Microsoft sustainability initiatives and uses the results to make sourcing recommendations for sourcing strategies for one or more product categories.

  • Makes recommendations for investments in new technologies, initiatives, and/or components that are critical to Micrsooft sustainability initiatives based on technical expertise in those products/services, suppliers, and industry trends. Acquires buy-in from stakeholders to ensure that resources are in place and influences the adoption of processes and technologies.

Other

  • Maintain subject matter expertise in community-led approaches to mitigating climate change in collaboration with environmental justice specialists.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 3+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles

  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 4+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years of experience building and maintaining internal and external stakeholder relationships

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Sustainability, Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field AND 8+ years experience in sustainability, procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles

  • OR Master's Degree in Sustainability, Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field AND 6+ years experience in sustainability, procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles

  • OR equivalent experience.

Sourcing Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
