If providing hope and healing through compassionate, innovative, and individualized care interest you, we welcome your application for the position below.The Pharmacy Technician I works a rotating schedule Monday to Friday between the hours of 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM.The Pharmacy Technician I performs complex pharmaceutical assistance work to provide medications for our patientsand#146;. Work involves unit dose drug distribution, performing computer data entry, ordering and/or receiving pharmaceuticals, delivery of drugs, technical assistance, and clerical duties. The Pharmacy Technician I works under the direct supervision of a pharmacist and reports to the Pharmacy Director. The Pharmacy Technician I is also under the general direction of the lead Pharmacy Technician for work assignments and training. There is moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. The Pharmacy Technician I is responsible for assigned property and must understand that duties, location of job assignment, and shift pattern are subject to change.Performs other duties as assigned. Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agencyand#146;s obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location.Essential Job FunctionsAttends work on a regular basis and may be required to work a specific shift schedule or, at times, even a rotating schedule, extended shift and/or overtime in accordance with agency policy.Willingly completes other duties as assigned within timeframes and standards established by supervisor.Obtains clarification and assistance as needed to complete tasks.Use pharmacy software to process medication orders, generate reports, including fill lists, and process return credits.Fills medication dispensing machines with appropriate medications in a timely manner.Delivers medication, including assessing needs for bulk items, and inspecting medication rooms.Prepares discharge medication orders for dispensing.Maintains proper records, storage, and security conditions for medications and pharmaceutical supplies.Repackages bulk pharmaceuticals into unit dose packages.Interacts with pharmacy staff and other hospital staff on a professional level.Performs clerical duties, including audits, inventories, inspections, filing, and stocking.Prepares, receives, and reconciles drug shipments, stocks medications, and reports drug shortagesAssists customers and coworkers, answers telephone, and responds to questions or requests. Performs other duties as assigned.
