Job Description:

About the Role:

The PLC/Electrical technician supports the maintenance department at the South Beloit location by driving and supporting key initiatives to improve performance throughout the plant. You’ll add value to this role by performing various functions including, but not limited to:

• Design, upgrade, repair, program, and troubleshoot controls for machinery and equipment used in processing, packaging, storage, or plant utility.

• Perform various activities relative to the installation, automation, and integration of new or relocated machinery.

• Advise contractors, management, maintenance personnel, and operators on machine operation and control issues.

• Installation and maintenance of programming software on department laptop. Backup and archiving of all automation files.

Important Details:

This is a full-time permanent role on 2nd shift hours, which operates from 2:30pm to 11:00pm Monday through Friday with flexibility to work some Saturdays.

About You:

You'll fit right in if you have:

• Knowledge of typical industrial control sensors, devices, systems, and networks.

• Proven proficiency in application, programming, and wiring of PLCs, HMIs, VFDs and Servos, preferably Allen Bradley.

• Experience and technical expertise in electrical wiring and power distribution.

• Familiarity with NEC and NFP70E

• Troubleshooting experience with relay logic and three-phase contactors up to 480v.

• Strong electrical drawing interpretation skills used to trouble-shoot and modify equipment.

• Willingness and ability to accurately markup revisions to electrical drawings.

• Comfortable with use of multi-meter and various other test instruments.

• Adjust, calibrates, and aligns circuitry and components and records effects on unit.

• Check newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.

• Ability to work required shift while also being on-call for breakdown work or phone support during night and weekend hours.

• Skilled with MS Outlook, MS Excel Worksheet, and MS Word which are company standard platforms.

• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
