SUNY Upstate Medical University Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant- Bariatric and Colorectal Surgery in Syracuse, New York

Job Summary:

Advance Practice Provider will serve as a Full Time Advanced Practice Provider, providing care to patients within the Surgical Specialties Clinic at Upstate Community Campus. The APP will provide management of the bariatric and colorectal surgical patient in the outpatient setting, with cross coverage to general surgery as needed. Responsibilities include providing expert level clinical care & coordination of care via a full range of services that will improve quality of patient care assessing & evaluating patients, ordering appropriate laboratory testing & diagnostic studies, arranging for referrals, testing, consultation & therapeutic services, and maintaining outstanding relationships with families, referring physicians & all members of the health care team.

Minimum Qualifications:

NYS licensed/registered NP or PA required. Master’s Degree as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant & current National Certification consistent to the clinical practice also required. NPI number and be Medicare enrolled with a Medicare Identification Number (or PTAN) (or eligible for Medicare Enrollment within 6 months of hire).

CPR-BLS Certification required at the time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bariatric surgery, Colorectal surgery, Ambulatory experienced preferred.

Work Days:

Monday-Friday, Days
