SUNY Upstate Medical University Outpatient Psychiatric and Addiction Advanced Practice Provider (Psych NP or PA) in Syracuse, New York

Job Summary: Be experienced or willing to be trained in the assessment and treatment of outpatient psychiatric and addiction patients on an academic service. Teach trainees diagnosis, psychotherapy and medication management of outpatients. Work in diverse environments with people of different backgrounds. Must be a strong communicator and able to develop an effective partnership with providers, staff and all stakeholders, regardless of their cultural, ethnic, and racial backgrounds.

Minimum Qualifications:

NYS licensed/registered Psychiatric NP or PA required (NYS NP specialty area of certification must be consistent with practice). Must have Master’s Degree, NPI number, DEA certification, medical malpractice insurance and be Medicare enrolled with Medicare Identification Number (or PTAN). Eligibility criteria for NP requires National Certification through ANCC prior to hire. Eligibility criteria for PA requires graduation from an accredited PA program and National Certification through NCCPA prior to hire. Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross is required.
