REPORTS TO: Production Manager

LOCATION: Tulare, CA

Under the supervision of the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor directs activities of the department in areas of Production, Maintenance and Quality Control. The Production Supervisor is to produce products efficiently and safely within established policy and processes. He/She advises and assists Production Manger as a member of the team and may assume Production Manager responsibilities in his/her absence.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Holding people accountable for business results including

  • Positive recognition for excellent job performance.

  • Coaching and progressive discipline for poor job performance.

  • Demonstrate a deep level of understandings of Lean Six Sigma Programs

  • Learn complex job processes

  • Communicate effectively with managers, coordinators and employees

  • Meet production schedules in order to achieve business goals

  • Manage up to 100 employees

  • Works with Business Unit Manager to define and scope continuous improvement/lean six sigma opportunities.

  • Determines strategy of approach, develops and applies necessary technical skills to deliver improvement results through lean six sigma concepts.

  • Captures and communicates best practices / learning to enable best practice replication

  • Lead a group in making data based decisions, challenge the status quo and work effectively with a wide array of plant personnel

  • Establishes focus & priorities around plant key performance indicators.

  • Completes at a minimum of 3 Green Belt Projects/Year

  • Manage Coordinator Development/Training

  • Accountable for the QRMP (Quality Risk Management Process) standards as outlined in the plant’s QRMP accountability document, including the implementation, improvement and ongoing maintenance.

  • Accountable for the plant Safety Program. Assist in monitoring processes and implementing safety related policies/programs including enforcement of LOTO, safety rounds, safety assessments, etc

Requirements

Qualified applicants will contribute the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (Engineering, Business Administration, Food Science or Related Field)

  • 3-5 years of supervisor and leadership experience in a manufacturing environment (food manufacturing is preferred)

  • Lean Six Sigma Trained and Certified - Green or Black Belt

  • Able to work second and or third shift.

  • Candidates must be able to work flexible hours and have the desire to develop themselves for advancement within the company.

  • Strong computer skills including MS Office (Word/Excel/PP), SAP/MTI, SAP/LIS, SAP/Maintenance, SAP/BI-Reporting, OEE, Mini-Tab and Quality Companion

  • Ability to develop long range Roadmap for Continuous Improvement (CI) of operations at a plant level

  • Ability to establish data base decision processes, challenge the status quo and motivate cross functional teams

  • Demonstrated Leadership Skills

  • Foster Team leadership

Salary Description

$70,000 - $85,000
