PeaceHealth HR ADA/LOA Partner - Hybrid in Vancouver, Washington

PeaceHealth is seeking a HR ADA/LOA Partner. This is a hybrid role requiring the incumbent to be on site 3 days a week.

The HR ADA/LOA Partner serves as a consultant and trusted advisor to leaders and caregivers across PeaceHealth on strategies related to caregiver leave of absences and workplace accommodation situations. Ensures consistent, equitable, and standard review and handling of ADA/LOA situations. This includes partnering with leaders in identifying operational needs, assessing the impact of the caregiver leave and workplace accommodation requests, and providing solutions with special emphasis on culture and people solutions that align organizational strategies with the mission and key objectives. Serves as a mentor and guide for leadership systemwide regarding leave and workplace accommodation matters. This is a hybrid role predominantly working from the System Services Center.

What you will enjoy:

  • Providing strategic consultative partnership to leaders regarding caregiver leave of absence and workplace accommodation situations, ensuring consistent, standard, and equitable review and handling of ADA/LOA situations.

  • Providing expert advice, coaching, and counsel to leaders on leaves and workplace accommodation situations in alignment with our mission and strategic priorities.

  • Partnering with operations leaders to identify operational needs, assess the impact of caregiver leave and workplace accommodation requests, and provide recommended solutions.

  • Providing caregivers with standard accommodation request paperwork, reviews, and assesses completed requests, facilitates dialogue with leaders to determine needs, and provides recommended solutions.

  • Partnering with the Leave of Absence team to ensure smooth coordination of caregiver leave of absence transition from third party leave administrator to PeaceHealth for workplace accommodation review and determination.

  • Ensuring standard process, paperwork, and documentation for all caregiver workplace accommodation requests.

  • Building strong and trusting relationships with leadership. Supports and encourages leaders in linking their day to-day work with PeaceHealth’s Mission and Values.

  • In consultation with HR leadership, collaborating for appropriate outcomes with leadership, Centers of Expertise, Caregiver Resource Center, and HR Business Partners which balance caregiver needs, policies, procedures, compliance with regulatory standards and PeaceHealth Mission, Values, and strategies.

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or equivalent knowledge and skills obtained through a combination of education, training and experience.

  • Master's Degree Preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years Human Resources experience, including managing leaves and workplace accommodation situations.

  • Experience with progressive development/knowledge of leave and ADA workplace accommodations in accordance with federal and state laws and statutes and PeaceHealth policies, mission, values, and strategies.

  • Recent experience in the healthcare industry, including an understanding of a shared services organization preferred.

  • Strong employee and labor relations experience preferred.

  • Certified Professional Human Resources or Certified Senior Professional Human Resources, SHRM Certified Professional or SHRM Senior Certified Professional preferred.

Additional Skills:

  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance, federal and state laws with a working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines.

  • Knowledge of employee & labor relations.

  • Ability to collaborate and influence.

  • Demonstrated independent strategic thinking and decision making.

  • Mediation and conflict resolutions skills.

  • Strong investigation and analytical skills.

  • Knowledge of organizational and team dynamics and methods to support continued improvement in these areas.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to identify, utilize and interpret workforce-related metrics.

  • Proficient in the use of MS Office application.

  • Understanding of operations within the healthcare industry preferred.

  • Proficient in the use of a major HRIS solutions preferred.

Working Conditions

  • Consistently operates computer and other office equipment.

  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

  • Sedentary work.

  • Predominantly operates in an office environment.

  • Some time spent on site in medical/hospital setting.

  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.

  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.

The general salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $44.25 – $66.37. The actual hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to, the job/position responsibilities, location, terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement, education, training, work experience, seniority, work performance, etc.
