Virginia Beach Psychiatric Center (VBPC) is a 100-bed freestanding psychiatric hospital located near the beautiful resort area of Virginia Beach, Virginia; a short 10-minute drive to the ocean front. VBPC offers acute psychiatric and substance abuse services for adults 18 years and older. The hospital is accessible 24 hours a day for admissions, and includes mental health assessments and an excellent referral network. Treatment programs and specialty services at VBPC include substance abuse, dual diagnosis and partial hospitalization.

POSITION SUMMARY

Provides secretarial and clerical support for assigned department(s) and staff. Set up data collection tools utilizing Excel. Interprets and positively communicates organizational philosophy and policy. Acts as an organizational advocate, providing appropriate assistance and facilitation to staff, management, leadership and administration as directed by the situation.

Processes Medical and Professional Staff credentials, applications for privileges and reappointments. Maintains credential files and ensures all appropriate personnel are notified of current privileges.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. One or more years of college or business school preferred

  • Three or more years of clerical and / or recentialing expreience required. Prefer credentialing or clreical experience in a healthcare setting.

  • Must be proficient working in Microsoft Office, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, able to set up data collection tools using Excel and performing internet research.

    Requires strong clerical skills including typing, filing, and operating basic office equipment. Must possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of hospital operations, JCAHO, CMS preferred
