First Christian Church Wauseon is hiring a Custodian

Job Description: The building custodian is responsible for keeping all church buildings clean and orderly.

Ministry Area/ Departments: Buildings

Accountable To: Property and personnel Ministries and Minister

Ministry Target: Church and Minister

Position Type: Paid Staff (hourly) $14-$18 depending on experience.

Pay Periods: Bi-Weekly

May Be Filled By: Member or Non-Member

Minimum Maturity Level: Stable growing Christian

Spiritual Gifts: Serving and communication.

Talents/Abilities Desired: Able to perform physical labor necessary in cleaning.

Best Personality Traits: Able to work without direct supervision. Dependable, Conscientious, Friendly, Professional, Neat and Flexible with a servant heart.

Passion For: Good stewardship of the facilities that Go has given the church and presenting a positive physical appearance of the church in the community.

Experience:  Must have one year of cleaning experience

Anticipated Time Commitments: 15 to 24 hours per week (Flexible time for cleaning)

Responsibilities / Duties:  Maintain adequate inventory of cleaning supplies.

Empty all wastebaskets weekly (more if necessary)

Dust furniture in offices, reception areas, sanctuary, and entrances

Vacuum offices and carpeted areas weekly (more if necessary)

Dust mop, sweep, or vacuum other areas as needed

Clean/disinfect drinking fountains and telephone weekly

Clean cobwebs from ceilings, corners, vents, fans, etc (as needed)

Clean toilet bowls, urinals, partitions, tiled walls, mirrors, and floors in bathrooms, refill soap, towels, toilet paper dispensers. Assure toilet paper and paper towels are available.

Pick up litter (inside and outside)

Check all areas for odors and clean/disinfect as necessary

Set up, teardown, clean up after church sponsored special events.

Prepare the church for funerals/special events

Maintain wax floors and clean carpets (as needed)

Prepare the baptistery (as needed)

Notify Property Ministry of repairs that are needed

Clean the church van (as needed)

Other duties as requested
